Maureen McLaughlin, LPC brings fifteen years of professional experience to Colorado families in need of her office, community and home-based therapeutic services. She specializes in court-ordered individual and family therapy, as well as therapeutic supervised visitation. Maureen works with parents, children, and families to improve safety, health, and connections among them. She values her positive relationships with case professionals and with families who, together, make up hard-working teams. Maureen firmly believes that the essence of meaningful change is rooted in a healthy and supportive therapeutic alliance. To this end, Maureen brings care, dedication, and honesty to her therapeutic bond with each and every client, regardless of challenges or circumstances. In her freetime, Maureen enjoys riding her Ducati motorcycle, horseback riding, and skiing.
Kelvin Nicholson is a therapeutic visitation supervisor with McLaughlin Counseling. He has been with McLaughlin Counseling since 2016, and he is a valuable member to the team. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ashford University and a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of the Rockies. Kelvin has been a therapeutic foster and group home director since 2006. He provides comprehensive case management services, including creating treatment plans and connecting clients and families to appropriate resources. Kelvin has extensive and vast range of experience in the field and is passionate about helping families reunify when necessary growth has been made. In his free time, Kelvin enjoys cooking for his family and being in the outdoors.
Jen Donahue serves as an intake and icebreaker coordinator, visitation supervisor and parenting coach for McLaughlin Counseling. Jen attended Regis University where she received a BSN. She spent fifteen years as a psychiatric nurse providing mental health care for children & adolescents at The Children’s Hospital, as well as for teens and adults through Mental Health Cooperation of Denver. She also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Douglas County Human Services to which the children were successfully returned home. Jen’s passion lies in supporting children and families through challenging life events. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants with her husband and friends, participating in family game night, and listening to Audible while walking her 2 dogs.
Amber Rizor is a visitation supervisor and parenting coach with McLaughlin Counseling. Amber attended the West Virginia University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She brings 10 years of experience serving families and specializes in parent coaching. Amber believes it truly takes a village to raise a child. She most enjoys working with families, counselors, and other professionals to safely reestablish a connected and loving bond between parents and children. In her free time, Amber enjoys hiking, horseback riding, camping, concerts, and swimming.
Lori Loretta, LPC is a therapeutic visitation supervisor with McLaughlin Counseling. Lori obtained her Bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a minor in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. She then went on to receive her Master's degree in Counseling with an emphasis in school and family based counseling. Lori brings over 11 years of experience working in the field of Child Welfare in both California and Colorado. Lori also has worked as a school counselor. When she is not working she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her family, friends and their three dogs.
Jane Birkbeck serves as the business manager for McLaughlin Counseling. As a graduate from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Jane works behind the scenes to support efficiency and professionalism at the agency. She loves how no day is the same, and the challenge is appealing to her. Jane’s favorite part of the job includes creating new systems and fostering positive client relations. In her free time, Jane enjoys spending time with family, skiing, swimming, and traveling to new places. She looks forward to interacting with clients to ensure the highest quality of services.
Allison Belding is a visitation supervisor and parenting coach here at McLaughlin Counseling. Allison has come to us with 8 years of case management experience, while being employed with Adams County and Arapahoe County probation working with a multitude of caseloads. She is currently working with Intellectual and Developmental disability individuals supporting families with resources and community involvement while receiving waivers. She has a great passion for helping our community and providing the best service possible. When she is not working, she is enjoying family, friends, hiking, and Crossfit.
Ronneka Cox is a visitation supervisor and parenting coach with McLaughlin Counseling. Ronneka acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder. She brings 15 years of experience in the child welfare industry to the team. She has held a wide variety of positions throughout those years, such as a case manager, visitation supervisor, residential coordinator, intake social caseworker, human service advocate, and more. Ronneka has a passion for helping others and creating a positive and safe family environment for her clients. In her free time, Ronneka enjoys playing piano and performing live with her band.
Chantal Rukundo-Karaara is a visitation supervisor and parenting coach with McLaughlin Counseling. Chantal is passionate about early childhood education and has worked in the field for over 10 years—serving as a counselor, teacher, and director. Chantal graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minor in LGBT studies. Most recently, Chantal became a fellow of the 13th Cohort of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program at the University of Colorado. When Chantal is not working or studying she enjoys spending time with her family or losing track of time with a good book or movie.
Janell "Nell" Bixby is a visitation supervisor and parenting coach with McLaughlin Counseling. Nell has been working in the human services field for 26 years. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has a wide range of experience that includes being a caseworker, case manager, and a plethora of other specialties in the child welfare spectrum. She feels that she was meant to assist people in their journey to improve areas of their life. She has been in many roles throughout her career, but one aspect has remained true with each role, and that is her passion for helping others be the best version of themselves. In her freetime, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, being a mom and nana, crocheting, being outdoors, music, and cooking.
Dr. Lakeisha Riley PhD, MSW, is a therapeutic visitation supervisor and parenting coach with McLaughlin Counseling. She is an accomplished clinician with over six years’ experience. Dr. Riley obtained a B.A in Business Administration Management, a Master in Social Work with a certification in adult trauma from the University of Denver. Dr. Riley has vast facilitation and family engagement skills, demonstrates knowledge and understanding of primary care-behavioral health integrated programs, including fundamental elements of co-located and/or fully integrated services. Her greatest strength is that she has the ability to put aside personal prejudices to deal with others in a logical, clinical, and helpful manner. Dr. Riley feels that if you are honest with yourself, realize your faults, see your potentials, and acknowledge your personal beliefs, you will be more likely capable of putting them aside to deal with others fairly and without prejudices.
April Eavers, LPCC serves as a therapeutic visitation supervisor and parenting coach with McLaughlin Counseling. She is also in charge of our caregiver support group. April received a B.A. in Human Services with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and then went on to receive a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. She has been in the helping profession for more than 20 years, with much of her experience in a one-to-one capacity, teaching life skills, mentoring and offering a range supports within the family system. April believes in offering supports that are unique to the needs of the individuals served, facilitating change with empathy and non-judgment. When not working, April enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, eating, and engaging in a variety of social experiences and cultures.

Eli obtained her bachelor's of Social Work and Sociology from Texas Woman's University and her master's in Computer Information Systems from Colorado State University. Eli hopes to one day contribute to bridging gaps between complex humans services programs, providers and the people they support through the use of improved technology. She believes in person-centered practices and that everyone is worthy of dignity and respect. In her free time, Eli loves going to the movie theaters, attending symphonies and plays, playing video games, taking road trips to unusual places and mostly time with family and friends.

In working with families, McLaughlin Counseling partners with children, caregivers, respondent parent(s), foster/adoptive parent(s), extended families, and other members in any given family system.
